Bio

With more than forty-three years of complex transactional experience, Robert Roseman is adept at providing extraordinary service and value to his corporate, not-for-profit business and real estate clients. Bob’s practice focus is in corporate and real estate transactional work, debt restructure and finance. Bob provides general corporate services and business advice to a variety of privately held and not-for profit businesses. He organizes corporate structures and conducts legal audits. He drafts and negotiates various types of contracts, such as complex stock and asset acquisition agreements, executive compensation arrangements, financing agreements, and asset-based security agreements. For start-up companies, he helps develop business plans and establish viable capital foundations. For more-established businesses, he assists in strategic planning. He advises at all stages of a real estate project, from acquisition through financing, construction, leasing, management, and disposition. He also has extensive experience in commercial and multi-unit residential real estate transactions and has represented lenders, developers, and investors in the areas of project finance, development and management. He has extensive experience representing foreign investors in their acquisition of real estate and has represented U.S. investors in the acquisition, finance development and management of property overseas.

Bob previously served as the managing principal of the Tysons Office of Miles & Stockbridge P.C. He also served as the practice group leader of that firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group. Prior to joining Miles, Bob was with the Washington D.C. and Tysons Corner Virginia Office of Williams Mullen where he served as regional head of the Real Estate Practice Group and as that firm’s Administrative Partner in the Tysons Corner Office. From 1991 to March 1996 he was with the Washington, D.C. law firm Galland, Kharasch, Morse & Garfinkle and served as Chair of the firm’s Business and Commercial Group. A founding partner of the Bethesda, Maryland firm Lerch, Early, Roseman and Brewer, Bob practiced with that firm from 1973 to 1991 and served intermittently as Chairman of that firm and as a member of that firm’s Executive Committee as well as Chair of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group.

Bob is the former Secretary and now Treasurer, Chair of the Finance Committee, member of the Executive and Development Committees and member of the Board of Directors since 2009 of The ALS Association DC/MD/VA Chapter. He is the former President and Chairman of the Board of Hillel at the George Washington University, Inc. a not for profit 501 (c)(3) organization, former President and Advisory Board Member of the Rockville Arts Place, the former Vice President and member of the Board of Directors of the Montgomery Youth Hockey Association, the former Vice-President and current Treasurer and Legal Director of the Maryland Student Hockey League, a not for profit 501 (c)(3) organization and its predecessor organization. In addition, Bob was the Founding President and administrator and President for more than fifteen years of the Winston Churchill High School Hockey Club, Inc., a not for profit 501 (c)(3) organization. Bob served as the chairman of the Task Force on Allocations for the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and has served as a member of the group’s Planning & Allocations Committee and several of its sub-committees.
